2011 MAMA: 2NE1, SNSD, TVXQ and Super Junior battle it out

All eyes and ears are focused on the ‘2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)’ that is scheduled to take place at the Indoor Stadium in Singapore on the 29th.

More than 2,240,000 votes came in this year through MAMA’s official homepage (http://www.2011mama.com), which is more than 10 times the number of votes that came in last year.

19% of the votes were from Korean fans, 11.2% of voters were Thai, 10.8% were Chinese, 8.6% were Japanese, and 2.4% of the votes came from Singapore. In total, more than 80% of all the votes were from oversea fans, which is 13% more compared to last year. Read the rest of this entry

SMTOWN Live Tour Photobook will be released November 3rd

SM Entertainment has recently revealed that it will reveal a  ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour‘  photobook on November 3rd.

On October 23rd, Super Junior‘s leader Leeteuk shared a few photos from New York City!

The idol tweeted, “I’m in New York. I will return after an epic concert. Thanks for the warm welcome.”

TVXQ reaches Platinum status in Japan within 2 days

TVXQ‘s Japanese album ‘Tone‘ has recently gained recognition for reaching Platinum status.

On October 9th, the Japanese recording association (RIAJ) dealt out the status’ reached by albums that were sold between January 1st to September 30th of this year. In order to achieve Gold status, at least 100,000 copies of an album had to be sold, while to be considered Platinum, at least 250,000 copies were needed. Mnet broadcasts performances from the ‘Hallyu Dream Concert’

On October 6th, Mnet broadcast performances from the ‘Hallyu Dream Concert‘ in place of their regular weekly airing of their music program, ‘M! Countdown‘.
